Job Description
Job Description: Assists with the administration of sponsored and other externally funded projects, participates in the performance of routine operational tasks. Functions performed may include data entry, accounting, financial analyses, and the extrapolation of policy and regulation to resolve problems relating to contract and grant administration support. Apply knowledge of non-profit accounting practices to the operation of a cooperative organization of the university. Prepare accounts receivable invoicing for sponsored programs for nearly 200 sponsored projects and grants; monitoring accounts receivable aging; corresponding with external sponsors and internal departmental principle investigators regarding invoice questions/issues for their specific projects; other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices and reporting guidelines. At least 2 years of related work experience; ability to interpret financial information; effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software specifically using Excel. Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat.
Preferred is the use of Blackbaud’s Financial Edge nonprofit accounting software.
