Assistant Community Coordinator
Description:
The Community Coordinator serves as the face of the program in the local communities, partnering with and maintaining effective working relationships with Local,State and Federal elected/appointed officials, community leaders and the public. The Community Coordinator facilitates the seamless and successful execution of program goals and initiatives in the local communities; ensures all stakeholders are informed and solicits program support and sponsorship from diverse groups within the community. Often serving as a liaison between the local community, support staff, and affiliated agencies to ensure the flawless execution of program logistics and client success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Coordinates and communicates the evolving design of the goals and initiatives; facilitating the process of open communication and effective coordination to ensure community input is captured, the community has an accurate understanding of the initiative, and expectations for implementation are clearly defined.
•Responsible for facilitating and executing the communication strategy; serves as a liaison between local community stakeholders and the Division of Reentry Services to ensure that the program design incorporates and addresses community concerns and overall response.
•Partners with the local community leaders, landlords, the Housing Unit and other stakeholders to identify, access, and retain community housing and services that can provide a seamless transition for returning citizens thus improving their chance for success.
•Coordinates the development, design and communication of comprehensive Operation Plans.
•Works with the project team to assess actual performance against plan, and to determine the course forward, addressing performance gaps and building on success achieved.
•Partners with the Housing Unit to facilitate and/or attend various outreach initiatives to build and maintain relationships with community property owners who are open to accepting tenants with rental subsidies, low-income populations, and individuals with barriers to housing such as criminal record and eviction history.
•May have other responsibilities and/or perform other job-related duties as assigned.
