General Building Maintenance-Repair Tech

 

Job Brief:

Looking for a reliable person to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of multiple facilities keeping facilities in outstanding conditions by doing various odd jobs.

 

 

Deft hands and technical knowledge are important parts of a technician’s arsenal. You must be

well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are

valued greatly in this job.

 

Responsibilities:

• Operate power tools, equipment and vehicles safely

• Perform general building maintenance and light repairs.

• Minor electrical repairs. i.e. replacing outlets and switches

• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and ballast

• Minor HVAC maintenance. i.e. changing air filters

• Perform minor fixes such as replacing doors, repairing broken door locks, door handles

• Minor repairs to drywall including painting

• Installing and replacing plumbing systems i.e. Toilet repair kits

• Identify and report the need for major repairs

• Communicate with customer’s about work completed

 

Requirements and skills:

• Proven experience as handyman and in general building repairs

• Clean driving record

• Experience with hand and power tools

• Basic understanding of drywall repair, painting, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems

• Basic math skills

• Good communication ability

• Well-organized and apt in problem-solving

• Attention to detail

• High school diploma or equivalent
